To install any Modelworks product you will need to logon your computer as an administrator if you are running Windows NT, Windows 2000 or Windows XP.

Version 4 and later products require on-line registration for a 30 day free trial. As an alternative you can use one of the free licenses.

Compatibility

We have discovered a potential problem with nVidia graphic card software which can cause excessive internal message traffic in SitePad Pro and JPad Pro. If you notice that either SitePad Pro or JPad Pro is consuming processor cycles even when you are not using them, check to see if you have nVidia's "nView Desktop Manager" turned on. When the nView Desktop Manager is enabled, it can cause the idle loop to continuously cycle.

To fix this, open the nVidia nView Desktop Manager control panel by choosing: Start Menu -> Settings —> Control Panel —> nVidia nView Desktop Manager. Then uncheck the "Enable Desktop Manager" button and click OK. If you do not see the nVidia nView Desktop Manager applet then you do not have it installed.

Note: Our products will run in the 64 bit version of Windows XP and Vista as a 32 bit application.

Minimum requirements for Version 6.x

Version 6 require Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows 2003 Server or Vista on Intel-compatible platforms. We recommend that you use IE 6 or later with version 6 products. Note that IE does not need to be your default browser. You can use any browser you like. Version 6 editions do not include a separate standard and international edition. All version 6 editions are compiled with UNICODE support.

Minimum requirements for Version 5.x

Version 5 standard editions require Windows 98, Windows ME, Windows NT 4, Windows 2000, Windows XP or Windows 2003 Server on Intel-compatible platforms. Note that version 5 products are NOT supported on Windows 95. The international editions require Windows NT 4, Windows 2000, Windows XP or Windows 2003 Server on Intel platforms. We recommend that you use IE 6 or later with version 5 products.

You will also need:

• IE 5.5 or later.
• Microsoft Active Accessibility 2.0 - only needed if you are using Windows 98.

Minimum requirements for Version 4.x

Version 4 standard editions require Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows ME, Windows NT 4, Windows 2000 or Windows XP on Intel-compatible platforms. The international editions will only run on NT 4, Windows 2000 or Windows XP. We recommend that you use IE 5 or later with version 4 products.

You will also need:

• Winsock 2 or later - only needed if you are using Windows 95.
• IE 4 or later.

Modelworks INdex Document Search (MINDS) engine indexes.

JPad Pro and SitePad Pro includes the Modelworks INdex Document Search (MINDS) engine. MINDS is designed to use existing documentation. The current full install includes indexes for the IDE FAQ, IDE Tools Reference, IDE Script Reference and the JDK 6.0 API. The following indexes are available for download:

NOTE: The JDK downloads below are NOT the Java JDK/SDK from Sun. They are only MINDS index files for Sun's JDK/SDK documentation. If you need the JDK/SDK go to http://java.sun.com.

To install an index, extract the .index file(s) from the zip file and put it in your Documents folder. See the txt or html file included in the zip file for more details. Then start your IDE. For details use the Help/Contents... menu and then choose usingHelp.
